Have a 6400 that the scv lever in cab has no resistance in one direction, have too make sure it's in the middle or it will be pumping.pulling it the other direction is fine returning too the middle with good tension.i looked at the workshop manual thinking there would be springs under the console but there's none, what do I need too sort it,would a kit for the scv sort it or does the cable give trouble.

6800 spool lever is cable from cab to rear valve. Just replaced cable on mine as it broke after 23years service. Removed spool lid and cleaned a little rust off and lightly greased the parts before reassembly. Mind you don’t lose the 4 ball bearings if you do this. My cable functions now but is still stiff to operate so will see if anyone with more knowledge can help.

Could just be the retaining clip for the cable sheath has come out below the lever. The spring return is done in the housing on top of the SCVs, but normally any problems in here are detent related.
