Ford 6610 steering oil pipe. This flanged connection has been leaking for a while and won’t seal no matter height tight I do the collar. Any suggestions that don’t involve replacing the pipe.. it looks like a pig to remove, even if I can source a replacement

They all do that sir!......

The pipe has probably split on its seem at the flare, its a long time ago but I got a flaring tool, cut the old flare off and reflared ?! the pipe, there's enough give on the bend to make it work.

I think it stopped it leaking :scratchhead:

Similar thing happened on my 6610 a few weeks ago that same pipe sprang a pin hole leak
.Go in the cab and remove that access panel below the steering wheel in front of your knees about 8 studs, undo the lower of the 2 power steering pipes(,the thinner one) spin off the hydraulic filter undo the 3 clips holding the pipes together then with some twisting and rattling it will come out.
Then in your case just get a new hose made up and refit ,in my case i got the existing one brazed up and with help refitted it.
Once that access panel is removed its straight forward honestly
Go for it.

javing a look whilst I wait on the arrival of the combine. does the panel come off without removing the side panels? I have the panel loose but it seems to be hooking on at the bottom and I can see what is holding it?

Let me know what you do to fix it. I ptfe taped mine. It worked for a week or 2 but I think the oil/heat etc has degraded the tape. I can't find anywhere that sells new steel pipes and am considering a flexible replacement.

I replaced the pipe on my 4600 last winter due to the same problem.
Would this be the same pipe ?
Looks like the one. I had a flexible made up for £20. I should had it with a 90’ union on one end though :banghead: It will go on with a straight one. I just need a second pair of hands..!

I took the flexible hose route. I suggest you put a 90’ union on one end or perhaps a 45’? also a thinner, more flexible pipe would have been better too  Because of the position of other pipes, mine was bordering on impossible to get lined up straight. But persuaded it eventually
