6920s back end whine

My 2004 6920s auto quad has a bad back end whine.
Hopefully someone might have some idea as to what the issue might be so I can mentally prepare for the repair bill😅

it’s always had a bit of a whine since I’ve owned the tractor but I think it’s getting worse now.
Only audible when travelling at faster speed 15mph+
Its not gear related as I can hear it in both upper D range and E range.
Only whines when tractor is loaded, going up a hill or accelerating, doesn’t seem to do it when coasting down hill.
don’t think it’s a bearing as it’s more of a gear whine and is only loud when loaded.
Also if I leave on the 4wd when travelling fast the noise gets louder almost like a screaming noise.
Any known issues that could cause this?
Everything working fine on tractor, power quad working fine and range shifts easy to select. Oil looks clear through the sight glass and its full to near the max.
Maybe half axle gears or diff issues?

why leave on the 4wd at speed, diagnostic trial? the wind up will be horrendous.

I'd be checking the oil and filters (suction screens as well) are clean for a start off. If they are, there can't be much wrong with it.

Only put 4wd on for a trial, was thinking maybe the 4wd was stuck on causing the whine.
Will drop the oil and check the suction screens, how many suction screens on these tractors and locations?

Now Then..
The suction screen is at the rear end of the powrquad suction pipe which you have to remove for access. All the details are in the operator's manual
