Under £300 for 12t Daf 45, with separate goods in transit cover.
younger than 15 years old MAN 8.180
fully comp insured any driver over 25 for £293 for the year
roadside breakdown assistance, for tyres or mechanical breakdown, if cannot get you going on roadside, will recover on low loader back home or to a garage for repair of my choice anywhere on UK mainland for £190 per year

@Pennine Ploughing who’s that with?

My 1st quote came back as £1750? I was thinking it should be sub £400

All clean driving licences and over 25,asked for 3rd party fire and theft,I’ll try my usual insurers on Monday.

Not sure how it works on age of the truck, but mine is under 5yrs old - and fully comp is usually cheaper than 3rd party.

Insurance told me the same, after they’d quoted.?

Going to put my box on it,own use only,I doubt I’d do 2000 miles in a year with it.

Has it got twin leaf back springs?

If not you will be better putting some rubber duffers on before you end up in the wreckers thread

I have some pics somewhere of one I did, made it far more stable!

It’s on air,the main reason I bought it.

I have one of a similar vintage, presumably the 180 is a six potter too? Mine will pass owt bar a filling station, but is the best pulling little lorry I've ever driven. Suspension is rock n roll as feck though!!! Will look out insurance cost.

Yes 180 6cyl,same engine is 250hp + in bigger trucks,it can’t be worse than a tractor at 4mpg.

Went from a steel sprung 10tonner which was pretty stable whatever you threw at it, current truck is on air and it drives like on rails no matter what. Only got the 4 pot motor in 210 trim but its averaging 19.5mpg which I think is superb.

It's going to be fairly heavy, not much payload?

Got a 12t one here now, will carry more than double what the 7.5t one did, and as Timbo said, good on diesel, it's a 180 4 cylinder with adblue. Bit short of power on a long drag loaded but fine otherwise.

Yes I know it'll be short on payload but air bags will make it look right☺its really a stepping stone to when we both pass our hgv.

Once you get the O license, cpc etc you might as well go the whole hog and a get a decent lorry, due to disappearing grandfather 7.5t rights the 7.5 will become extinct.
