724 pulling a horsch dc6

Morning everyone,

I’m looking for some advice. I’ve been asked to put my 724 on a horsch dc6 drill this harvest to help take pressure of the main tractor when needed if it’s on other duties. I will be pulling it on mainly heavy clay ground but will go to light soil as well. Was wondering if wheel weights would help for extra traction or if just run with 1200kg front weight will be enough to get it move.
Thanks

Rear wheel weights will help a lot. A heavy front weight just takes more weight off the back & these need to be doing at least 60% of the work. What will you be sowing? Osr and cover crops won't take much power but cereals and beans on a soft seedbed will need all the horses working.

I will maybe start pricing up wheel weights for it to help for extra traction. Will be sowing OSR/WW/WB. The hopper holds roughly 2 ton but wasn’t going to fill it until seen what it can do with just a couple bags in it

I wouldn’t bother with wheel weights, you can’t get much on the wheels and they are a pain to take on an off ......... so you won’t, they are also expensive

just get a frront weight block and hang it on the 3pt linkage above the draw bar, achieves the same ( more in fact as you can get more weight there with leversge forces as well)
