Yes it is tight in there. I’ve already done a grease up and a spiked wheel in your back isn’t fun! Have to say I’m really not looking forward to having to change the discs as it was hard enough before!

^^^ I was thinking the same, greasing the front centre openers is going to be an interesting experience.

We don’t have the chains and bars fitted on ours which gives more space

@parker how are you getting in with yours. ?

We sold so much straw last year we didn’t get to really test them but certainly been worthwhile where we did have a lot of straw like wheat after oats etc

Greasing isn't a problem at all, but I do remove them all when changing the discs, which with a powered wrench isn't to bad a job, really pleased with the row cleaners they do the job as intended

I did this mod autumn 2017. It’s solved the problem nicely as it tightens against the flat edge evenly. Not had to tighten since!

could you give me the coulter number please simon? they will need replacing soon.

You’ll need to sit down when they tell you how much they cost. To be fair though they are 2 1/2 times harder than the 90 series boots and don’t forget that being narrower will also mean less wear.
The boot numbers are A109343 LH and A109344 RH. You’ll also need AA98401 Flag pin, R557817 screw, A105410 seed tab, N283976 nut and N10216 fixing screw for each row.
You won’t get the full benefit of the narrower boot if you don’t fit the new narrower and flexible press wheel, AA88056.

Has anybody modified their 750a to try and increase the seed depth? Would love to get winter beans down to 4 or 5 inches with it.

Also wondering if a light tine in front of the disc would possibly do as a cheap and cheerful row cleaner? Any ideas or experience much appreciated

I can normally get beans down to 4 inches with the standard drill ?? if I choose too, row cleaners have worked well for me, if you could fit a tine, it would work, it would be interesting to see how you fit it

Looking at mounting a small seed applicator /hopper on 750. Had a chat with Stocks who advised a forced air delivery unit. Is this necessary or will a gravity unit cope? If gravity isn’t sufficient is it possible to take an air supply from the drills fan?

you will need to have an air supply, I blow straight into the venture, which works really well, gravity would not work well imo

When feeding into a venturi with the main meter, I assume the air supply is more to do with making sure the seed does flow well along the pipe from the rotormeter.

If you could get the rotor meter close enough with a steep delivery pipe then I would expect it to work just fine, but that probably wouldn't be practical for the hopper.

yes without it you would have problems imo, if you mounted it in the right position it may well work with gravity, but why would you want to take that risk for the sake of applying a fan. I still occasionally have problems with the fan at higher rates.
