750a near miss

any 750a users please use bolts instead of linch pins for holding in the link arm pins.

Drilling into a very tall cover crop today the drill became detached from the tractor due i think to the cover crop pulling out one of the linch pins.

I was very lucky in that all pipes and the ISO plug popped out without damage I was only left with a few of my own auxiliary wires getting the chop. I've certainly learned my lesson re linch pins and I hope others heed the warning.

I might suggest @Simon Chiles adds it to his notes on the operators course

Good advice! Also applies to the Horsch co drills. Only with them you could have a pto shaft spinning at 1000 rpm. to make bits of everything! Cant even imagine.......!

A good point although I suspect you were unlucky. I'll get my son to wire lock them on, he works on 747's and wants to wire lock everything. I don't think that allowing bits to drop off a Jumbo is an option.

if link arms are lock they carnet come off if linch pin comes out ,it is more likely to have been due to rateling about and pressure pushing up on link arm rather than pulling down, lost pronto off due to that ball and linch pin intact, put a large split pin or bolt in one of the holes to stop catch moving in hook and that stops it:)

one we had was a bar so if linch pin came out and arms locked ball couldn't come off,on link arms with hooks you have 2 holes if you put a pin in the wright one catch cannot come up and wire in linch pins:),best thing would be with one of them to loose it off when turning near a cliff
Oh yeah I get you now
