Combine front tyres are cracking up, still holding air but nervous of another season! Has anyone any experience of any of the cheaper russian / polish tyres advertised on internet?

Many thanks Paul

If the load ratings are the same it should be ok. I put nortec 800s on the tanker and would rate them higher than the alliance that came of which were woeful

They may well be cross ply. These cheep Russian tyres usually have a higher carcass pressure than regular brands. When the tyres have no air in them they still exert a ground pressure this needs to be added to the pressure in the tyre to get a true field ground pressure. They look the part but if you let the pressure down so the tyre can flex they will crack up.

Thanks for replies, thinking I will have to bite the bullet if i cant find any good second hand. Local tyre firm advised against the cheapos, I guess the old adage of you get what you pay for.
