When I decided to renew the boundary with the common, which I measured at 800m, I bought one of these kits;

The contractor charged me 2.5k + vat for erecting including an extra gate. That's a bit under 8.oo per metre I think.

i'm toying with sleepers for strainers then eco posts + wire :scratchhead:
only thing to remmebr is that clipex eco will bend if they come to a dead stop ie stone/ shale patch or thin ground. you need 2ft of good going unless you can pilot drill.
we useing mcveigh creosote strainers and struts and turning posts and putting eco in at 6 m spaces its working well and looks good as well
but with respect to the above.

Eco posts are a waste of time, get the proper X fence wire that fits into standard clipex posts, it’s stronger, pulls tighter and lambs can’t get there head stuck in it. There’s no price difference either so you may as well get the stronger wire

standard posts are 1.29 dearerthan eco with the same guarentee.

x fence wire 1oo m is 20 quid dearer than the 8.8o.30 i buy and 300m roll is 55 quid dearer so it seems there is a price difference.

no lambs or adult sheep for that matter.get their head stuck in mine .
as for being stronger i ve not found the x fence on the deer fence here to withstand a bash with the plough any better than the estate wire i use.

I’m paying same price for wire, £0.85 a metre for x fence or hinge joint
I get eco posts same as standard but we are buying a 1000 at time and wire 6000 metres at a time

If I'm doing a new fence I go for the standards but I find I am actually using a lot more eco posts as I am forever life extending conventional wood post fences replacing individual wood with steel. Bit of gloom and despondency when I find I've mixed the 2 up! I spray paint the pointed ends of the ecos when they arrive to try and make it easier to tell them apart
