956xl sensodraulic controls

Had the old girl since I was a boy...... had to put the 4wd on the feeder wagon to get some silo blown into the feeders.... the 2wd wasn't quite up to i, grounds hard 4 inches down but a bit skitty on the surface.

Anyhow, the wagon is mounted on the link arms and on the 2wd (pre senso) we made a rest for the lift arms so that we weren't messing about with heights and bending the pto shaft, it also drops when you're using the external hydraulic which is most of the time. The problem with the sensodraulic is that it appears to have a mind of its own and the rest we constructed doesn't fit this tractor and it'll only be in use for a week or two.

Explain to me the draft/position rotary knob..... what ever I do I cannot get this into position rather it has to be 50:50 or else the arms lift too high. The problem then is that when you get a load on and drop the clutch it lifts the arms due to the draft sensing. It might have something to do with the mud guard control maybe. I'll still have the dropping issue whatever but I don't want to b4gger the pto shaft by lifting too high.

Help appreciated.

Check your top link hasn’t had something heavy hung on the pistons get sticky on the 85 and 95 series and they act like a tit, we get it after the hedge brushers been on for a few weeks good smack inwards with a copper hammer or block of wood may cure it

I thought they had a bendy bottom pin for the draft control..... don't think the top link moves.

Is the control on the mudguard turned fully to the left? There should be a click at the end of travel.
Or put both levers in the cab fully down and set the height with the mudguard control?

I realised the mud guard control might have an affect as I was going home. It doesn’t have a click to it but I do remember one in the past
Will investigate tomorrow.

If all was working perfect....

Mudguard knob fully to the left, position/draft in position, which I think is fully left/counterclockwise (not sure on that bit)
Then inner lever (small one nearest the seat) in work position which is the middle position, tho nearer the bottom, & then set the height with the other lever.

If you imagine ploughing or cultivating, all done with the inner lever, up is up, work is whatever the outer one is set at & down goes below the set height.
