Well yes and no. These low life have been stealing chainsaws, tools and batteries but now claim to be going straight as they have conveniently set up in business as tree surgeons. Was the judge so naive that he didn't ask where they got the tools to run their business? And of course they will have all the training and insurance needed to be tree surgeons won't they?. It seems that defending barristers can put up the most ridiculous arguments and be confident they will be believed. Well done North Staffs Police, but complete own goal by the Justice Department.

Like others I don't see this as good news when they have been let off. And tree surgery must be the second commonest pikey trade after driveway resurfacing ?

Perhaps there's a lack of co-ordination in sharing intelligence and best practice.
