Don't you follow the news: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/agriculture-bill-to-boost-environment-and-food-production.

UK agriculture is about to be hit by the biggest changes since the start of WW2 and none of them good.
None good, really? None good from a subsidised, protectionist and no environmentally hypocritical EU perspective certainly; fortunately you'll be fine in EUtopia, until Germany gets tired of subsidising you.

So we won't have to worry about you - no matter how long the whining continues which, considering how desperate and funny it's getting, I'll be happy to see carry on... :ROFLMAO:

I suppose the CAP will carry on merrily with no consideration of environmental impact (just wait until Greta hears about that) or the great big black hole in its finances?

I don't think a drop of 6.5% exactly equates to a big black hole in what after all is a modest budget. And even that will be less as UK has signed up to carry on contributing to for the foreseeable future.

It's still money that has to come from somewhere, do you think that Poland and Greece will be happy to receive less money, perhaps the Irish will offer to pay higher contributions, or maybe the owners.....er I mean the Germans will stump up the difference.

Many of the electorate have the attention span of a goldfish. They think its all over????? I fear they are going to be disappointed , this will drag on for years.
As you say , Hey Ho

News just in .. trade deals are never over.

I can't quite get it .. what do you think goes on in the world ? You're in the EU and you've recently had a trade deal with Brazil .. and the USA & Trump have indicated that a trade deal with the EU is going to have to occur.

The USA has also told the WTO that their rules are being abused by China with the "Emerging Market" rules and the WTO has agreed that changes must happen.

You are not living in a static environment and the EU are constantly undermining both you and the EU's position .. case in point Brazilian Beef, "Climate Change" policy AND the 20 years of burning of the Amazon rain forest.

Still at least the "Environmentalist Charities" like WWF will be able to buy up the redundant Brazilian Beef farms and make a killing replanting the rainforests they allowed to burn for 20 years .. some might even say it was done by design.

You have taken my post out of context. They think its all over refers to the" lets get brexit done" and boris saying" it is." It hasn't started yet , the trade deals are to come.

As it's such a small amount the EU may let individual counties make up any shortfall from the discretionary allowance if they so wish.

I don't think so.

Brexit refers to Leaving the EU which legally and politically will be done.

Trade deals occur throughout the world .. to which the EU is no different. I understand you wish to extend UK punishment to the Trade Deal but the EU needs to be very careful. German designed cars can be bought from the USA .. the EU could very well find the UK market shrinking significantly.

So the EU trade negotiators need to very careful of what? The bunch of pensioners and children that Boris has at his disposal. But maybe some of Dominic Cummings 'misfits' and 'weirdos' will be the secret weapon augmenting them. :ROFLMAO:

I didn't write that you were worried, I wrote that we don't have to worry about you; I did write that you are whining - again!

Nobody can say they know, but I think it highly likely that a great deal will change within your EU fairly soon, or that it will see other members leave.

This time next week we really will be a subservient state of the EU - beholden to its rules and regs with no say yet paying for the privilege. I really fail to see how this puts us in a position of strength when under huge time pressure to negotiate a future trade relationship with the EU or anyone else. My Canada based son tells me that Canada pretty much abandoned the need to agree a deal with the UK when the No Deal tariff schedule was published by the UK, it will see most imports from Canada at zero or the same as now yet UK imports to Canada burdened by WTO standard tariff rates, in simple terms its a better deal than Canada could have hoped for, no wonder only a handful of the 50 EU deals have been rolled over if the others have realised the same as Canada, and no doubt our EU neighbours will be seeing that as a fallback position if trade talks fail. Interesting times ahead for sure but I worry we have talked ourselves into a position of weakness just so Boris could say he got Brexit done. But we are "leaving" next week, the ref will have been respected and "democracy" is safe for another day.

Hmmmmmm.
I get the feeling we shall be negotiating 27 separate trading deals with members of the EU.
The Irish have started spouting off on their own already.
Divide and rule. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

This is all getting silly now. Negotiations “in public” are the scourge of modern society. Politians know the value of “points scoring” and “sabre rattling” via the media. It’s quite simple; if the EU don’t want to extend a no barrier deal on trade with us, we will have to get on with life! Not sure what the hords of Audi and BMW drivers will do if tariffs increase the prices by more than 10%. I’ll bet most businesses on both sides of the “soon to be border” are fed up to the back teeth with the politics and current “speak” and I don’t blame them! Will common sense ensue or....?

It will give you good practice for negotiating with the US. :ROFLMAO:

I hear the EU is about to sacrifice EU agriculture in order to sell more cars to the USA.

Guess who's gonna be getting chlorinated chicken ?

"Faced with a U.S. refusal to cut industrial tariffs unless the EU opens its agricultural market more, the European Commission might be prepared to scale back technical barriers to imports of American foods including shellfish, according to officials. They spoke on the condition of anonymity because the plan is still under discussion."

That's some spin on the situation - QUOTE - The von der Leyen-led commission, in office since Dec. 1, has no intention of ceding to this American demand (opening up the EU market) , which would require a new negotiating mandate from EU governments.

Can you imagine the riots on the streets should the likes of Germany and France throw their rural communities under their own Boris bus? They know the value of the rural vote, the communities support for its agricultural sectors and the ability (and desire) to take to the streets should they have to - the polar opposite to the UK. I think our EU neighbours will have to cross the channel in pursuit of chlorinated chicken.
