I don't want to make light of anything said above, as safety and pto shafts is a serious business, but some people just never learn. A long time ago, a chap round here lost his leg in a pto accident. He eventually got back to work when he'd got used to his prosthetic limb. However he managed to get caught in a pto shaft again.
Fortunately for him this time it was his wooden leg which actually stalled the old Nuffield he was driving:facepalm::facepalm::facepalm:

Yes i know of a chap who lost an arm to a baler as well.

The times i've gone to get out of the cab to attend to a baler problem then thought hang on let's have everything shut down first. It only takes a minute, even if the tractor needs to tick over for a bit to let the turbo run down.
While I agree with this, there are occasions when you need a machine running to work out why things are going wrong.
