Depends what it’s for. I find I use a standard T20 flashlight a lot, takes 18650 batteries and a good light. Take it when lookering calving cows when I drive round and shine it out the window at the cows which saves a lot of circling round to take a better look.

i have a better light, similar build but a tighter spot. Mounts to the shotgun/rifle well too.

If you want a handheld you can't do a lot better for the weight than something like a t68 scope mounted hunting torch, great light at 200 yards and can get some cheap off amazon, just make sure you get the white light and not the IR one :)
We got some cheap £8 USB rechargeable head torches from Amazon and they are bloody awesome, charge lasts ages, lightweight and gets a great light, maybe 60-80 yards and well worth a go.
Something like these I think : https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07L8ZT...uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

Anybody tried these

Yes. Got mine from Toolstation

Very good. Holds plenty of charge and really can scan 300m+ down a hedge at night

If you want really good torches then I'd suggest importing them via Banggood or Aliexpress

Convoy L2 - very long range with enough spill to be useful - around £33
Convoy L6 - ridiculously powerful not such long range but huge width - will light up a 200yr old oak tree 50m away - around £45
BLF A6 - much smaller but a stunning torch around £15

They run on 18650 / 26650 batteries which you can buy, plus a charger from the same sites

Trust me once you've tried them you won't consider any of the crap sold in the shops (there are youtube clips of them all in action)

To give you an idea - that one ^^^ has 550 lumen, the Convoy L6 claims 4300 and is much smaller
