if something sells fast it kind of indicates to me that people want it
maybe I'm just bit simple though !
I think the new TVR is a good example of why a small company can make a decent car these days, take Gordon Murray chassis and a cosworth v8 and just put a pretty frock on it and it will all work probably. Almost an advantage over a big manufacture that can only get stuff from its own parts bin.
bit like the plan for this defender - noone is going to build their own engine or anything daft these days, they will just pick and choose best bits and stick them together in something a bit defender like
That was the old Land Rover Santana Spanish operation, had rights for series vehicles in Hispanic countries. Latterly part of Suzuki, re-engined by Fiat who tried unsuccessfully to market one under the iveco badge if I remember rightly. Last ones had 2.8litre iveco van engine but still on leaf springs. They also built Suzuki sj 's in Europe.Hasnt this already been done? There was a spanish company called sentana or something like that and they started making the old series 3 or carried on making them after land rover stopped. I remember seeing them in the royal.show in 2003 or 04/5 i think it was. They were meant to be the next big thing in farmers trucks and ive never seen one or heard anything about them after
They do look great. I could replace two vehicles with one of them, but........
How does £46185 Plus vat grab you for a new double cab version with no back body on it sound?
Bargain!

Obviously not been in suit then. FIL had Bedford badged Isuzu, great vehicle rusted out completely in 10 years then he drove it into a treeIve got an immaculate izuzu double cab pickup in the garage nearly 20 years old so ya talk sh!t boy.
My goodness, you are in a "glass half empty" mood. It's marketing and hype As you know plenty of folk whose income/net worth:sense ratio is way out and up stumping up cash for all kinds of stuff, some of it is tax related, a lot of it is purely emotive to make themselves feel better. Fair enough, but neither of those factors mean the product is actually any good.
Decent car, we will see about that. Plenty have tried.
And buying stuff from various parts bins does not mean it will be reliable or otherwise. A lot of these niche car makers rely on big name parts bins.
It is a shame that you can't buy a decent well finished British sports car for 50K or a smidge over, everything is 100K or above now which is daft considering the amount of work that goes into building a Porka for that money.
I would not be so sure about these over-night car makers. A Macca 570S I know of and almost got to drive was a complete dog for reliability. Replaced with a Huracan now, even on the poor roads in this region, the ride was unbelievably good.
td5 Discovery?Had a touch of the three amigos in the Disco a few months ago, didn't think it would be a problem at the time as I was on tarmac, but forgetting and pulling onto the soft verge to let one of those ten foot wide hatchbacks through I realised it might. In the old days you just put the centre diff lock in but LR in their infinite wisdom had decided not to fit one. I did get out eventually with a bit of too ing and fro ing. Local garage does a lot of sensor repairs for LR products, apparently it only takes a tiny bit of dirt for the system to pack up which does seem odd for a vehicle destined to spent much of its time in mud.
I think you come to learn actually >British forum......that's half the reason we come here, to provide a constant reminder how the rest of the world does things
Yes, we learn how its done in the UK and EU, we then do it exactly the opposite because thats the "correct" way!I think you come to learn actually >
8A80, use the Hyundai version with MPI or use the Mitsubishi with Holley EFI instead of the GDI.6G75 would slide right in. [emoji12]
It's only the correct way down there though, as everything happens in reverse like water going down a plughole.Yes, we learn how its done in the UK and EU, we then do it exactly the opposite because thats the "correct" way!
