A month without rain?

Aye, bird in the hand thing... at least you have a bit of grazing at the moment... Looking at my aftercut last week, I reckoned I could DD into the stubble with little competition. The seeds would not grow mind!!

Wondering on a root or a leaf crop?

Sprayed spring barley today, land that is infested with charlock USUALLY.

Hardly any charlock & some of it almost dieing with drought & finished off be flea beetles.

I think you can forget brassica fodder crops.

I think all drilling is off the cards for the time being!!

Couple of inches of rain on very warm soil will see a very rapid emergence of anything.... what, is the question?

I know it's not accurate, but no rain now on my forecast going up to 11th June.

Beeb giving 40% chance for light showers on Wed... (y)

But enough to be worth top dressing...? Dunno

Irrigators really got going in the past 2-3 days locally, spuds and cereals mostly from what I have seen. Beet looks to have managed to get that big old taproot down and finding some moisture.
