A new one for me... Dead lamb with extras

First lamb came last night in this snow. No probs, all healthy. This morning a ewe was straining and looking very uncomfortable and a quick check revealed an ear and a foot. Quickly realised I had only the back of the head so went to try and turn it to be greeted by "that" smell which would strongly suggest the lamb is dead already. Definitely no life there so proceed to pull it out. The one leg falls off meaning I have to find the other leg and with plenty of lube and effort we finally get the thing out. Stinks. However, immediately behind it comes a large lump of something. First thoughts are it is a mummified 2nd lamb but on inspection I would have to say it is a large lump of a liver. About half the size of a sheep liver!

There is no bleeding from the ewe and she is still alive as I left her so what is that lump and where did it come from. Any ideas?

One for @bovine really, but at a guess a second lamb that didn't grow normally and only the liver developed.

You see all sorts if you lamb enough sheep:facepalm:
Sometimes lambs develop with their 'insides' on the outside:eek: - I guess that's what you have:scratchhead:

This is the strangest thing we've ever had come out of a ewe....

....2 sort of normal back legs, 2 stick-like front legs, 2 massive rubbish and no head:yuck:

Had one looked like that last year from a ewe lamb. It was so soft that it fell to bits the minute I had to pull it out. Like warm jelly. Was truly disgusting. Still feel like hurling up every time I think of it.

We were a bit busy so I left ours a couple of days before I 'disposed' of it. When I went to get it, it had sort of dissolved - it seemed to have been mostly made up of a fatty jelly like stuff.
