A question for those down under..

A question has arisen on a forum to help people with thyroid disorders. Many of us feel better taking NDT (natural desiccated thyroid) which we have been getting from Thailand. This is dried pig thyroid, and due to the problems out east with their pigs, the supply of pills has dried up.
Some has now come on the market, Australian bovine thyroid. The question has been asked on the thyroid forum as to do Austrailians use any form of growth promotion in their beef, as this would effect the NDT.
Anyone know?
Thanks.

I believe some do, some don't. They apply the rules of the country they are producing them for so if destined for Europe it's no, if the USA it's yes.

Any observations @Farmer Roy @cows sh#t me to tears @Steel ?

As above. But even then maybe not. Plenty of cattle finished naturally from family run operations cant use it if selling onto open market through yards as you haven't a clue who the buyers would be. So, generally only feedlot finished (or those with contracts to processors exporting to the US) would use it.
Google search says 40% 😳😳 can't see it being that much???
same search says NZ beef 0.0001% HGP

So I guess you just look for "hormone free" supplements for thyroid disorders?

Trouble is the thyroid is a hormone, so hormone free would be no good...

Anything is Soy in it is not good for the thyroid, as with high iodine in food (and navel spray!). If you suspect a dodgy thryroid, get your vits and minerals tested, as it is common for these to be really low in those with thyroid problems. This is especially true for Vit D and Ferritin, and if either of these are low, you feel really ill.

I am fine with being the maddest cow on the farm. :)

Devils advocate here. A: just because it's called "natural " , can you be sure of where it has come and how said pig was fed.
B: Is there any scientific backing re growth hormone affecting NDT from Australian cattle. Or is the latter a perception.

Just asking......
