A question of a invoice

Got a bill from our main dealer that we use, for repairs to one of our tractors, it got paid, BUT tractor in question was never in for repair and it wasent one of ours ! It was paid because at around the same time we had to get a fitter out for a sensor problem and office though it was that although said machine is still under warranty ! The dealer in question is looking into why we have this bill for work done to another person's tractor but I have my theory, someone was trying to fiddle a warranty claim on another tractor by putting our details on a job sheet ? The job in question come to around £500 in parts and £1000 in labour. Annoyed is not the word !

I would be more concerned how a 1500 bill has slipped through your system . With out knowing what it’s for and which machine it’s allocated too

Might not be anything to do with dealer! Some A holes get hold of an invoice change details on it and bank account numbers then forward it on from a fake email address Just another little scam some scumbag though up to relieve honest people of there cash.

Does the dealer even have a record of invoice that matches yours?

It slipped though the system because all the details on the invoice were correct and around about the same time we did have a breakdown which involved a dealer call out and it was included in a much larger bill for last season's netwrap and plough and drill metal. Mum in the office just paid it, and it only came to light when we were looking for a price we paid for something else

Dealer and the boss was the biggest crook on the planet for fiddling warranty claims ,pretty well every invoice was increased and when a tractor came in for hydraulic repairs new fluid was charged but the old fluid was put back in
He is probably one of the wealthiest in

The fitter telling me the boss was not satisfied with normal profits on consumables like oil filters etc he added another 20% on top and the fitter was told to find something wrong

Exactly. I don't really see theres a story here. Clerical error that will get sorted. If it doesn't then it becomes a story

This. Could be timesheet, reg number, wholegood number, account number, invoice type... there are so many opportunities for us to get it wrong, it's a miracle we ever get it right!

Had very much the same when I had my Loadall cesar datatag fitted, I’d been and spoke to the workshop and a price £100 was agreed if I took the machine to them no problem there at all.
when the invoice came it was for over £300, the datatag was on there at £100 plus Consumables at £20 travel time and distance at another £30 odd then a load of other stuff oil and filters etc that I’d never even had.
i never payed it just took it straight back to them and asked them to sort it out, that took six 6 weeks as they argued the consumables where for washing the machine before tagging it (I’d washed it the day before and was stood in there yard with there fitter for the whole 40 mins it took to do it, I even filled some of the paperwork out).
In the end I just paid £100, Ive since had the other 2 machines done but elsewhere instead.
