Statement or a question?

Is Quebec undemocratic because they've had multiple referenda on independence?

Likewise Scotland has already had multiple referenda on independence. And I am sure they will be asked again in the next few years. Only a dictatorship would ever prohibit it's population from changing it's mind. A democracy can change it's mind as often as it's wants, even if at times this is inconvenient for the politicians.

Only if given a chance to.
Wasnt there a 40 year wait for a referendum on membership of the EU?
Seems only fair to wait another 40 to have another!

There has to be a significant demand, there hasn't been and wasn't until Cameron decided to make it a political issue in an effort to protect the interests Conservative party from an imagined threat from UKIP.

Norway has held a referendum multiple times and so far it has always been a no.

Norway's economy and voter demographics will change over time, and the EU will evolve over time, so keeping options open would seem sensible.

We have a general election every 5 years.

There is no need for another referendum.

If there needs to be questions asked of the public then put forward a manifesto instead.

Mrs May and all the MPs are scared to death of the fact she has lied. She'll be dropped like the dead weight she is.

All those not supporting the will of their constituents will also lose their jobs and more importantly those inhibiting in HMG will be removed.

A referendum does not get rid of Remainer MPs.

You can't join and leave the EU every five years.

I wasn't talking about the EU election, but it illustrates the point I have made on numinous occasions that if the UK population took these elections seriously and elected proper politicians with a genuine interest in their constituents and country we wouldn't be in the mess we are in.

Interestingly referendums are illegal in Germany as Hitler had used them as a tool to support the rise of populism.

why would they take an election seriously,
where the elected cannot form a government or initiate legislation?:D
of course the elected are very well remunerated for for doing some rubber stamping :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Probably a sensible solution. Referendums are a cop out for politicians who are incapable of making the important and complex decisions we vote them into make. This has just been proved admirably over the last two and a half years.

Why are Brexiteers afraid of a second referendum, a positive result would show that is what the popiulation want, a no vote would just be democracy in action.
We are all entitled to change our mind.

We have already voted once, we just want a fudging government to carry out the democratic wishes of the electorate. Not a remain by the back door Brexit.
