A shocking waste

So, we now know that it was Lord Brownlow who paid £58,000 towards the cost of makeover of the PM's Downing Street flat.... what hasn't been reported is that Brownlow, in his role as founder and director of Huntswood CTC Limited, has also benefited from government contracts
The man ranked 521st richest person in UK with est. £271m fortune, who paid the Tory party nearly £60,000 towards Boris Johnson's requested refurbishments, runs a firm linked to awards of contracts worth as much as £120,060,000
Is it a fact that Lord Brownlow paid for refurbishment?
If it is and was something that should of been declared why would Boris be so stupid to do it when its very obvious it would be found out eventually?
It just doesn't make sense. He must be a fool or there is more to it than is being told at the moment.

You sound very bitter and I've no idea what your last sentence is about. :scratchhead:

Not bitter, just think we have a new Federalised State by stealth looming on our doorstep. The in-fighting in the EU Commission will be the enemy within, and those outwardly will be the sacrificial lambs. The EU is France and Germany, the other educated one's like Denmark and The Netherlands use the EU to their advantage, most take out more than they put in. The UK was the highest nett contributor.
As far as Agriculture is concerned, the hypocrisy of the EU is damning. On the one hand supporting intensive farming via CAP, on the other turning a blind eye to the environmental impacts. I'm not judging either, just stating what a bunch of europcrats can achieve when you put them all together in the same place. EU Army next, as NATO is not under their control, good luck to them.

The UK was never the highest contributor to the EU, that has always been Germany being the biggest country. If you look at from a fairer per capita contribution the UK was then only the 5th biggest contributor despite being the second biggest country.

Regarding the CAP, I personally think it's a reasonable solution that is constantly evolving not always for the better. Ultimately it is only set guidelines and depends on how your country chooses to interpret them. I am just glad I am not trying to farm in the UK with the prospect of becoming a glorified park keeper with the public to utilising your land as they fancy. However, some folk will no doubt welcome the potential in this endless diversification from farming into leisure and other businesses, but its certainly not for me.

God help us all. The EU is good for France, Germany and other “educated” states like Denmark and Netherlands. But UK equally as big as France and Germany, give or take, and equally as educated as Denmark or Netherlands, and still you couldn’t make it work???? Go figure.....

No, certainly the French are not in the same league as the Germans, Danes and Dutch when it comes to education standards (or the UK), there standards are going down, where the rest are improving. However, the french are very good at milking the EU cow for every penny: http://7lameslamer.net/IMG/article_PDF/Dear-European-taxpayers-this-is_a1475.pdf

But, who can blame them, it's their club.

......and a nett contribution annually way less than the UK's was. As for the contribution per capita to the EU gang, irrelevant I'm afraid, take a look at Poland.......

So, you say " A shocking waste " at the start of this thread, what is ?

Ramped up a step today, it has been reported the refurbishment cost over £200K with wallpaper at £800 a roll😂😂😂
Always a good idea to get something you cannot afford.
Wonder when he is getting a Rolls Royce Cullinan for carting the latest discharge from his loins around.

One simple way to sort this. The flat is the residence of a public servant and a temp one at that. Therefore a figure should be set for annual decoration and it should be paid for out of the public purse with no extra spend allowed. This should be administered by an all party group which should avoid the flat HAVING to be redecorated each time the tenant changes due to the decor taste of the previous tenant.
