A visit from the Travellers Caravan Club

Local farmer whom I know well, was last evening baling hay on his fields near Glan Clwyd hospital when he noticed vans and caravans entering the next field adjoining a dual carriageway.

In a nutshell he went and blocked the gateway with his Land Rover to prevent more vehicles entering the field. One bloke with an iron bar came over smashed the Land Rover windows when he refused to move and others told him they were coming on anyway, and he had better move.

These people had just been moved on from the bowling greens at the Coronation Gardens in Rhyl, and as is usual just moved a couple of miles before invading someone else’s property.

The farmer had phoned the police and still refused to move despite threats and more window smashing and kids throwing stones at him. Eventually some of them scarpered before the plod arrived. Three travellers waited for the constabulary and they said would leave the field if the farmer did not press charges.

Apparently there are clear photographs of the bloke with the iron bar and the travellers have left the area completely according to the police, who are still looking for them.

High time we all signed the petition on this forum to make it illegal for anybody to enter another person’s property and once and for all put an end to these obnoxious people being able to act as absolute criminals whenever and wherever they choose, with total impunity.

Things have got to change, so for goodness sake sign and share this petition.

Irish pikeys not travellers i expect, last yrs trick was to break into fields and then ask the farmer for a grand or two to move on. Best thing to do is politely tell them your slurry spreading tomorrow and call there bluff if they think your joking.

There are enough laws already out there, lack of enforcement is the problem not lack of laws.
There are laws about smashing windows but it still happens and without any prosecution either no doubt.

I don’t think that there are currently laws regarding entry onto other person’s land as being a criminal act.

Otherwise why do we have the absurdity of having to serve a notice etc etc and it needing a warrant to get these people shifted after they have polluted private fields and council owned land for many days before they have to shift on to pollute another location within a couple of miles?

The police and the state need powers to order them off land immediately, and to put and end to this endless farce of these people making a mockery of the law and doing just as they wish without any fear of the consequences.

As somebody aptly said when campers were on our Botanical Gardens in Rhyl, “why weren’t Kingdom Security there enforcing fines for littering as they are everywhere else in Denbighshire if someone has the temerity to drop a fag end?”

Because they are too damned scared to confront the real culprits, that is why.

As always in society the soft targets are always the easy prey. The real criminals just get away with it because it is too much trouble or rather too dangerous to prosecute them.

“British law is designed to use every means possible to ensure that justice is not done.”

There are all sorts of laws that could be used against these people but they aren't.
Please don't think I an siding with them, I would likely be banned if I posted my feelings in how they should be dealt with.
It doesn't matter how many laws you make if the police are unwilling to act upon them which is the current situation regards these people.

A bit off topic (or may not be), I was in the car park by Nova in Prestatyn on Weds eve, me and the missus just enjoying the sea breeze. Next minute there sere sirens and a dozen armed police poured out of several gangster looking blacked out BMW's, shouting and screaming and all waving a large amount of guns about. They had surrounded a Transit van and dragged the occupant out and slammed him to the floor. Extremely dramatic, extremely serious and just like you see on the TV/films. Most had hand guns but there were machine guns and the like too.
Some of the bystanders were absolutely terrified and visibly upset.
Me and the missus were surprised more than anything, it was surreal and almost as if they were training or something.

The guy in the Transit (didn't look pikey but who knows) had gravel rash and a bit of blood on his face where he had hit the tarmac but I'd say he was lucky he wasn't shot dead tbh.

"The law is for the law abiding" .

It's easy to enforce laws against people who have FACs, businesses with assets, vehicles which are kept MOTd and insured and subsidy cheques.

It's rather more difficult to deal with those of no fixed address who deal solely in cash, and have very little need to "exist" on any official database. Especially with free at point of use NHS, and its current policy of giving those of traveller descent preferential treatment.

Crazy lawless country we are becoming.
The police seem powerless to intervene due to lack of resourses and the lack of initiative.
I saw some cctv of a van and occupants during a burglary this week. Seems investigation now is down to Facebook. A few reported seeing the said van at a travellers site.
