A Woman is a Woman, A Man is a Man.........Mr Putins Annual Press Conference.

During his marathon annual year-end press conference Q&A, which this year lasted about four hours, Russian President Vladimir Putin once again vowed to defend Russian society against the intrusion of the corrupted values of the West, in particular blasting the "gender obscurantism" pushed by the United States and Europe.

"I am a proponent of the traditional approach that a woman is a woman and a man is a man," Putin laid out, which it goes without saying also reflects basic Biology 101 and humans' self-understanding for thousands upon thousands of years. He continued in the remarks on gender: "A mother is a mother, a father is a father. And I hope that our society has the internal moral protection dictated by the traditional religious denominations of the Russian Federation."

Throughout the remarks he called it basic "common sense" - which strongly suggested that the opposite is currently the rule of the day in America and the West generally, where people fear being "cancelled" in their jobs and during public discourse if they don't confirm to concepts of 'gender fluidity' and Frankenstein reassignment surgeries, which is even increasingly being pushed on children.

Putin was responding to a question form a journalist over recent gender controversies in the West, and also the way it has impacted women's sports.

"And we learned to treat each other with respect. And what does it mean? That also means treating the foundations of our traditional spiritual culture with respect. All the peoples of the Russian Federation, I would like to stress, all of them have a certain internal moral protection against this obscurantism that you’ve just mentioned," the Russian leader said.
"If somebody thinks that a woman and a man are the same thing, they’re welcome to [their opinion], but a certain common sense should exist."
Holding up his country's traditional values as the "antidote" to the "new ethics", he also seemed to allude to the "spiritual values" of the Russian Orthodox Church, which has long been dominant in Russian society.

That's when he likened the West's attempts to push these things on Eastern Europe to a viral infection... "just like the coronavirus pandemic," he said...

"Just like with the coronavirus pandemic one can't escape [non-traditional values coming from abroad]. We need to look for an antidote."
Referring indirectly to last summer's Olympic Games in Tokyo which saw New Zealand transgender weightlifter Laurel Hubbard - who is a biological man - compete as a woman, Putin described situations where it's now as simple as someone "declaring that he is a woman and starts competing in weightlifting".

"And it is necessary to fight this not with direct orders and shouts and accusations but with the support for our traditional values," he asserted further. Additionally according to a description in TASS of his remarks, he "cited the example of an incident in the US when a criminal serving time for rape declared that he was female and after a transfer to a women’s prison committed the same crime in his cell."

The remarks also come at a time that multiple sports controversies have erupted in the US regarding trans competitors, particularly the ongoing saga of a University of Pennsylvania "male-to-female" swimmer who's smashing all records..
In comments earlier this year Putin called imposing transgender teaching on children a "crime against humanity"

Every year during what the US has designated as "pride month" in June, American embassies around the world fly the rainbow flag in most embassies throughout the globe, including in Moscow and throughout Eastern Europe, where countries like Poland tend to be more conservative that Western Europe.

Of course, there's a notable exception: US embassies in conservative Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia and Iraq did not fly the rainbow flag this year. The Saudis, it should be remembered, is America's closest Arab ally and partner.

As Putin's comments suggested, the whole trans and LGBTQ++ movement seems to be bound up with US foreign policy abroad. In prior months, Kremlin officials have accused US-based NGOs of intentionally trying to influence Russian society with these "new ethics" - resulting in a crackdown on the degree which they can freely operate. This as Russia has laws on the books that make it illegal to propagandize children on these issues outside of parental consent.

From its founding 500 + year ago Kiev Rus was infused with traditional Christian values from the Russian Orthodox church. Of course, this omits the 1917-1991 period under Bolshevik communism. That 20th century time period was an aberration.

Russia has returned to the norm under Putin. And that is why the mostly Pagan West despises him so much.

And as for a Woman is a Woman and a Man is a Man, go tell that to Mrs Macron, Mrs Obama and Kamala Harris!

Adolf Hitler told us that we shouldn't be cruel to animals... point is, something true doesn't become a lie simply because someone who usually lies, and who we may not think much of says it...

Must admit I'm sick to the back teeth of the tranny / woke / LBGXYZ brigade trying to tell me what to say and how to think. To the point where I have given up trying to avoid unnecessarily offending anyone in such matters and, now, just say what I think and tell them if they don't like it that's fine because I don't like what they're saying, or doing, but we're in a free democracy so we'll have to put up with each other.

A couple of months ago I met one utter weirdo in town - obvious bloke, revoltingly dyed hair and very odd accessories, but who claims to be a 'woman' now - who didn't like it when I told my little girl to wait to use the women's loo until 'he' had left. Prat had a total meltdown; I waited until he'd finished and then asked him why he was so keen to have primary school girls alone in a toilet with him... he stormed off without answering.

For the record, the tirade from this fellow brought the inevitable small crowd, about a dozen or so I guess, none of whom mentioned any disgust with my wanting my girl to be able to use the loo in an exclusively female environment.

They'll push and keep pushing, sooner or later they'll push too far and then regret it as most people, who don't wish them any harm, become sick of being ordered how to think.

Minority groups have to remember the fact that they are minorities. It should allow them the rights and liberties of the general population, but being a minority fundamentally means they have to forgo some of these rights as well. For example, many TV and films nowadays are turning dammed right weird or actually rewriting history in their desperate efforts to be politically correct and socially incisive. Maybe the pendulum has swung a bit to far the other way from the 60's and 70's. :scratchhead:

A well known gay activist over here told me in the early 90s when technically was still illegal to be gay here 'No one chooses to be different, but the real challenge is going to be making it not different'.
That has been a core belief of mine since, if you're agitated by them its obviously seen as still different.
There still needs to be rules, and these are still being worked out developed. Sports being one obvious one and example of toilets etc another, but they will be worked out over time.

I'm a classical and social liberal, I simply don't care what others want to be or do, providing it doesn't harm anyone else; it's just none of my business, until it starts to impact me and - far more importantly - my family.

They are a tiny, tiny minority and if they push hard enough they'll make easy-going fellows cease to care for them and actively be against them. Why don't or won't they recognise just how uncomfortable they can make others feel, and just how they can be very frightening to small children? Why the hell do or should the rest of us have to compromise / change / adapt / deny scientific fact for these people?

The answer to all of those questions is very simple: they can't credibly reconcile themselves to what they claim to be without everyone else either agreeing with them entirely or being brow-beaten into not disagreeing.

Well, as I wrote earlier, I've had enough of that and, while never going out of my way to hurt or offend any of them, will no longer be silent about obvious truths or perpetuate obvious untruths. If they don't like it, fine, but tough, just as they have a right to their opinion and say, so do I to mine. (y)

Not disagreeing with you at all, have to live and think of others as much as other way around tbh. Rules around kids being most important, as they say idiots in all walks of life

Everyone needs to realise that we are all a nobody to pretty much everybody.
People of all identities need to realise that if they want to be treated equally they have to accept that they have to be a nobody, just like everyone else.

But that doesn't suit many agendas, some seem to want to speak out about them being some special case who wants equality.
That equality means being totally unimportant and being treated & spoken to that same as anyone else does without claiming to be persecuted or crying the victim.

I personally think people should be what they want, however imvho the pushing of a multi gender society has gone too far and people who don't want to accept same sex couples should have the right do do too
Yeah im abit sick of seeing gay and lesbian people kissing on tv adverts etc, its being pushed to hard on tv soaps too. Let people be who they want to be but enough with the promotion pls.

While Putin isn't very many persons cup of tea there is unfortunately an element of truth in many of the things that he says, the West is getting very het up at all the Soviet troops on the Ukrainian border but unfortunately NATO must shoulder an awful lot of the blame for this in encouraging Ukraine to join NATO.

If you remember it wasn't that long ago that Kennedy nearly started World War three because the Russians were putting weapons into Cuba, is there that much difference between that & Ukraine now joining NATO?

Virtually every advert has to be inclusive these days
Tend to agree. I don’t have an objection to folk being what they want to be and or do as long as it’s not forced on anyone. The current inclusiveness I find not to my beliefs but that’s just me. The press and those in positions of power have been “persuaded ” to include far too much of behaviour that I don’t subscribe to.

As my children will tell me, if you've a class of 30, 1/3 will have special needs or autism, 1/3 will identify as gay or bi (they're 13 - they're neither), 1/6 will be vegans, and 1/6 will be "normal". They're currently attempting to tag "normals" as cisgender to give them their own label. It's all total tosh. The data would suggest that one would be ADHD / autistic and at 13 very few would have had any sort of sexual experience. The pressure to have some funky label is pure attention seeking. However say this and you may as well daub a swastika on your forehead. Not helped by every TV program being full of gays, disabled, ethnics, hijabis etc. I simply roll my eyes when their friends "identify as bicurious". Because they're not. They're just trying to be cool.

The strange thing is that in the schools I attended there was not one child with autism, sure there were a few kids that would play up but they were never stuck with a label saying they were "different"!
We seem to be living in a time when everyone has to be branded with a "label", it's not a good thing!

I've reached the stage where I'm old enough and cynical enough to simply not give a fudge about any of it any more. I don't make a point of informing everyone I meet what sexuality I am, I don't understand why people would do this. It's not newsworthy or of interest to everyone, surely? It's a bit like being sinister handed- who is going to care?
