Is it too late to to drill some AB9 plots?

Ive got a couple of plots that i couldnt establish in the spring as they had a cash crop growing on them.

Also, most of the plots that i did establish in the spring are mostly full of thistles!! and i really wold like to re establish them as they look a total mess!!
Mines full of thistles too but there is also several different lakes a few linseed a few quinoa and the odd mustard etc

When it rains they will all shoot up and bulk etc
We’ve done our best with very limited moisture and as long as there is a crop of sorts a variety and it’s down for birds in winter what else can you do.

Different mix this year, dry weather didn't help establishment but should be something for the birds.

Anyone still AB9 to drill?

Apart from a 30% chance of thundery rain at the weekend, forecast just looks hot.

Got to be in by the 15th

Drilled mine along with all the game cover, some a week ago, some last week.
All in with the Claydon.
Subsoiled and rolled after.
Need rain!

I drilled mine on the 20th of May before going on holiday. Just did a pass with the Dalbo (sumo), combi drilled then rolled. Not had any rain since drilling but it all emerged well, could do with some moisture now though. Glad I drilled it deep into moisture at the time otherwise I doubt it would have germinated! Hopefully going to catch a shower tomorrow/Monday 🤞🏼

Has it GOT to be in by the 15th, or is that guidance?
Nope. Guidance. You can drill it when you want as long as it bears seed over winter. I think I’ve only ever produced one decent crop which wasn’t full of weeds but I’ve had 2 inspections (2 agreements; one on its second term) and both more than happy. Mine is sprayed off ready but not going near it until we get rain.
