Abloy locks constant probem

Im sick of having arguments with the Mr that I cant open many of the locks around the farm. I mess for ages, the lock mechanism doesnt move. These are expensive Abloys but problem 3 years old. Too much time is wasted like this and all he does is shut at me.

Is there another way of sorting these locks - is it worth bothering taking to a locksmith as the last lot are at the shop he keeps promising to mend them but 4 months later. I need to collect from him now as he's taking the P&ss. We like all our locks to have the same key.

Life is too short to be messing about trying to open sodding locks then starting an argument.

Am I right in thinking these are stupendously expensive? Just looked online and the cheapest Abloy locks are like £40 each, and they can be £150.

My take on padlocks is that its pointless putting expensive locks on things, because now cordless angle grinders are as cheap as chips anyone can get in anywhere they like, if they really want to. An angle grinder and ultra thin cutting disc is going through a £150 lock as fast as a £10 one. So I buy keyed alike cheap padlocks and chains. Gates are still locked, so covered for insurance, but it doesn't cost a fortune to replace the lot if needed, or they stop working. Deters opportunists but you're not stopping the determined thief anyway. If you really need to stop access the only way is physically - large concrete barriers, which incidentally appear to be surprisingly cheap, I've seen them on ebay for about £75 each:

You cant cut theses they are within a box system. They are excellent locks do last a long time. I will buy some spray and try that. Other than that replace the whole lot.

Don't put up with him shouting at you over a padlock. Hit him over the head with a bit of 2x4. Not necessary in this day and age, nor any other. Makes life so miserable. The shouting, that is, he might be miserable after the 2x4.

GT85 is better than WD40 I find, but for padlocks, I use a graphite lube, just a touch.

I do agree that with it being so easy to cut or burn a padlock, it's not worth buying quality now. As long as they will withstand the hammer blow technique

Should I spray new locks too? I want to install a couple of new locks, still trying to figure out, should I change them on my own or should I search for a locksmith, by the way if anyone knows a good locksmith somewhere in hillingdon I would really appreciate any info. To be more clear I need 3 or 4 eurolocks, 2 padlocks and I need a roller door for my garage

All our locks on Parks & Gardens with local Council are Abbloy, I find they do tend to get stiff & difficult to open if not used frequently, but a quick squirt of WD40 soon sorts them out 👍
