With both markers up and the magnets close to the Reed switches , if you can advance the sequence by pressing the button on the box then I’d bet a packet of Jammy dodgers That you have a broken wire between the sensor and the junction box.

Reed switch can and do wear out we’ve replaced ours a few times over the years.

Im now getting to stage we’re I’m putting tramlines in first on GPS then just colouring the rest in after

Think I've a reed switch gone. Tramliner jumps a few steps of it's own accord now and again. But only going 1 direction.
Also can't always move the light on a step, even with marker down.
