Accord marker arm switches

We have acquired an accord drill with Reed switches on the marker arms for advancing the tramlining sequence. I have attached pictures of the switches and magnets and I was wondering if this is how they are normally installed? The reason I ask is that they are a little bit unreliable, sometimes they will advance the tramlining sequence, sometimes they wont and sometimes the marker arm can bounce in the folded up position and advance the tramlining sequence 2 bouts. It seems to me that the magnet position relative to the switch needs to be quite precise for consistent operation. I was wondering has anyone else experienced similar problems with these marker arms? Are they a proper accord setup, or are they an Andrew Guest arm?

Also, has anyone ever replaced those Reed switches with the likes of this: https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/p/limit-switches/2071975/
Or maybe something like this:
Seems to me like either of the above might be more reliable in the sense that they dont need to be positioned absolutely spot on to function correctly.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

The magnet ones arnt usually too fussy (but only experienced RDS type), markers waving about can cause errant tripping, but they should have a small timing delay built in to avoid errors. Mine only trip a new bout when both markers have been up together for about 4 seconds.

Those other types you show would in my experience give you more bother.

If it’s acting up it could be the reed switches are getting tired. Have changed mine a couple of times now over the years we’ve run our accord drill.
Thanks, are they in the right position as shown in my pics? The drill is only new to us, the marker arms are off another machine that I have now mounted to our power harrow. They are not advancing at all at the moment, but the switches are still working as if I get out and manually activate them with a little magnet , they will advance. Seems to me like the magnets are a little small so need to be in the exact right spot.

Not sure as our marker arms are Andrew guest ones and it’s set up different to that

How magnetic are the magnets? they are very close compared to the ones I use.
Fairly strong. I'm just wondering are the switches being "pulled" in the right direction by the magnets.
Another thought I had, maybe it's a crazy idea, was to put a limit switch on the rear end of the tractor, which would advance the tramlines each time the combi is lifted at the end of the field.
Sometimes, not often, the wrong marker arm goes down, and that unreliability would drive me mad!!!!!!
I'm used to a rapid, where it has never messed up a tramline in 10+ years!!!

I had a similar problem, two weeks ago.
My markers would not advance the tramline sequence at all. I was tempted to just use the manual advance on the FGS box.
I tried to test the wiring, the plug into the FGS box and the magnetic reed switches. All to no avail!
After a phone call to Andrew Guest, I bought new magnetic reed switches and new magnets. Once fitted - Bingo, I had the tramlining sequence advancing every time, just perfect!
I had spent hours messing about with a multimeter etc!
Just fit new switches and magnets, and save the hassle!

Mine can mess about at times, but it is always the plug going into the box in the cab.
I fitted a new plug! The low seed level alarm wasn't working, so I fitted the new plug and that sorted it. I also removed the little distribution panel, and installed a dust proof junction box/enclosure.
