My accountant has been pushing Xero, seems ok and we havnt had many problems with it over the last few years, Mum does that side of the business as she used to be in that line of work.

Fits with tax man more like ?
Self Assessment and tax accounts interface as all online these days too.

Was talking with accountant yesterday and yes of course has to fit with new VAT regime et al and he has asked a number of package providers to go & see him so that he can access which will work best for his clients across a range of businesses but it does have to work for him too. Pity of it is is that he had formulated his own spreadsheet for us that worked brilliantly but is not HMRC compatible :(
Going to have to run a new package alongside his spreadsheet for 6 months so my brain can bed in

I think I read somewhere that you can get a programme that converts your system to one that hmrc will accept, thats what I want as i made my own spreadsheet based one and it is easy to use and works how i want
