Add heater plug to Ferguson 20

Hi, I have a diesel 20, its used everyday as my scraper tractor. It pulls my 10ft scraper. I love it, its very reliable, only issue I have is cold weather and hard starting. Once above 5c its starts first turn.

Has anyone added a heater plug to a 20. I'm getting sick of having to jump start her in cold weather, as the engines turns over.
If I cant add a heater plug, would a block heater make any difference.

I dream of a 35x with power steering and a cab, but funds wont allow

Part of the Kigas system?
My Kigas pump doesn't work but the heater plug does and it starts pretty well.

I'd stick an electric sump heater on it personally, be easier than a block heater.

Yes everytime I start it.

Yes you can still get the pump/tank but would be 2nd hand and could be expensive (£130-50'ish) Ron Greet would be a good call, he tends to be able to source most things Fergie. It's just a small tank and a hand operated brass pump (right hand side of the dash) that squirts diesel into the inlet manifold/heater.
I have one on mine but never use it although have re-built the engine so has good compression and will start without heat at -7C (tried it last year out of curiosity)

There wouldn't be a cold start button on a MF20.
Easiest way is to fit the later type thermostart in place of the original(need to get one with the correct thread...they're not all the same) and fit a pipe connected to a small lawnmower fuel tank or similar,and just fill it manually. Let gravity feed the heater and the tank of fuel will last for ages.

There wouldn't be a cold start button on a MF20.

There is on the Tef20, it's on the end of the injector pump (radiator end) very similar to the cold start buttons on the Ford Minimac pumps

I was doing the yard scraping myself at the weekend, and she takes a few turns to fire, then will run fine, doing the 10 mins yard scraping. Next day its wont start as battery has not enough power, would it be the dynamo, or maybe the battery

if only running 10 mins a day, fit an alternator in place of the dynamo,
wiring will need changing and a key with ignition on it, along with a red warning light, not to hard to do at all,

first question, is it charging now ?

A friend of mine just had 4 heater plugs put into his mf 35.
Starts well now.
