Adding Aircon service port into condenser outlet

Need a condenser for my old Deutz K430 Aircon to make it cold again . There's two versions from SDF, both of which are simply ludicrous money.

The likes of Malpas, tractor shack, qtp, etc etc can all supply one for a fraction of the price, but none of them are the version with the service port on the condenser outlet. The one on my tractor has the port on the top right like the picture below

Anyone know who could supply an adapter tee to fit a high pressure valve port to the condenser outlet?

There's nearly £800 difference between SDF and the pattern part price! I need to make the tractor fit the condenser without the port!

Hi, the correct condenser with service port is available aftermarket in the region of £350.

Aye thank you. You're better at the aftermarket searching than I am, couldn't find one with the service port. Who sells it please?

However, I've already bought and had delivered the one without a port. Cost just over just half of £350. SDF were more than double that.

My thinking now is to get a new pipe made up from the condenser to the compressor with a port in it....

..... Anyone know who makes up Aircon pipes?

Would you have the part No you need
Aye, the SDF part number is 0.015.1048.4/10

However, I've already got an aftermarket one from tractor shack that's described as compatible with it, and also with SDF part number 0.015.1048.4/20. The SDF/20 number also doesn't have a service port, which is why the condenser I have will be described as compatible 😠

Hoping to get a hose made for less cost than exchanging the condenser.....

Done some thinking.....

Don't want to return the condenser I have because 1) it fits 2) it was £200 less than a pattern part with a HP service port

Don't want to send off the hose that's on the tractor because AC does work, just with reduced gas so high pressure doesn't get above 300psi, and blower turned down so it doesn't freeze

Found a steel beadlock splicer to fit #6 hose which has an HP r134 port, all for £12, and a hydraulic crimper tool for £70. Even with delivery I'm still over £100 better off....

Just have to cut the compressor to condenser rubber pipe when the man with a van and AC pump can come to degas the system. Courage required!

Thanks for the help

Is your HP line #6 or RD #6 ?

Can you not just fill from the low side?

Says #6 on hose, and 5/16", so presume it's a #6 3/8" fitting. I'll double/triple check before cutting the hose

Indeed yes, but this all started because the condenser use partially blocked and the HP was over pressure. Everything "should" be ok with new condenser, but I'd rather be able to plug on the gauges if there's a fault in the future, plus the man with a van and an AC pump isn't happy filling it without the HP port to check vacuum and running pressure!

They block cos the RD bag bursts. Very very common deutz thing. Usually some makes it to the txv and blocks that too.

Aye

Mine bust under warranty 12 years ago. Was blown through and made to work again, but never right. I always just thought typical shyte Deutz Aircon, except the k series is the exception because it is really good when it's actually working! Changed the expander valve (and thermostat) already, and it is blowing cold again. HP was over 350psi, but with a bit less gas it works provided fan isn't full on and it freezes as LP too low. It's short cycling so the compressor clutch is getting hammered

How come you know so much about Aircon? Had a few folks trying unsuccessfully to fix mine over the years. In the end I bought a £60 set of guages this spring and asked for help on here. Should've done that years ago, but hindsight vision is always clear

You may as well spend a few hundred more and buy your own de-gassing and regassing gear.

Why don't you just drill a hole in the pipe on the condenser and TIG a high side port onto it? Save's cutting up a perfectly good hose, it'll save you buying a fitting and crimpers.

If you really feel like saving money, you can kink the small rubber high side hoses off (or clamp them off with vise grips) and replace the condenser without de-gassing and re-gassing the whole system. Degas, Vacuum & add oil through the high side port, unkink the hoses and then top up gas as needed.

Used to work with a fella who previously had TIG welded the suspension on formula one cars

He had a habit of counting when welding. Eventually we discovered the reason: he counted the number of times the stick was dipped to know how much weight of weld he'd added 😮

My welding ain't that good! Cheaper to bugger a perfectly good hose splicing than me buggering a perfectly new condenser welding
