yes but i assume its to stop someone claiming half the county is now theirs?.. for the fields we bought we did nothing it was all done by the vendor and the RPA said there was nothing we could do till the forms were processed, they wouldn't even tell me on the phone if it was in process and received due to us not being the vendor. The land was really quick but the entitlements took ages.

I am sure there will be someone along with more experience to advise though.

If you’ve got it all what are you adding? I think it’s rle 1 from the vendor as wombat said if you mean they aren’t all there. And yes I have no idea if that would happen in time.

Still waiting for RPA to add some land I bought ages ago. The vendor sent the RLE 1 in ages ago. The entitlements have been added, but not the land. I’ve seen the RLE 1 and everything looks in order.
If the land is not added in a day or two I will submit our application without it then claim via a letter.

NO - no point submitting a covering letter. RPA may just ignore it. The process is simple - use a Continuation Sheet. Don't mess about waiting for RLE1 to be actioned (might get to Xmas first) just put the parcels on a paper continuation sheet and get posted to RPA Worksop recorded delivery. You chaps need to do as many as I do then you just crack on. Cheers.

You still need the previous claimant to transfer the land over. The quickest way is online, but it has to be done via their login, not yours, and by midnight on the 15th.
Owning the entitlements means nothing if you haven't the land to attach them to.

You'd think so..........🙄
We bought some land with entitlements last year. Luckily, we all got on ok, so I got them to login to their RPA and then I guided them through the transfer of land and entitlements. There was the added bonus of the field parcels not really matching the fields we'd bought 🙄 so we had to submit maps with the changes on aswell.
Once it's submitted, don't worry about it for months....the RPA wont 😄
It all eventually went through and we got paid (even with the vendor still attempting to claim for them again 🤔)

NO. The previous claimant does not have to transfer land over. The process of associating a new land parcel with your own SBI can be totally independent of the previous occupier. Especially important if they will not use online transfer facility, which I agree is simpler and easier. Just submit a paper Continuation Sheet with the parcel details.

At this late stage, and given how fast the RPA deal with things, you have to agree that it's preferable for the previous claimant to transfer it directly to the new claimant? If all is in order it literally takes a few minutes.
By sending a paper continuation sheet, you're leaving yourself open to the previous claimant claiming again for this year, especially if they don't get on, and then you've a load more faffing further down the line when the RPA come back to you.
I'm simply going off what the RPA told me last year when we bought land, that the onus is on the previous claimant to 'surrender'/transfer it. Otherwise, every man and his dog could go round collecting field numbers and submitting them as their own.....

This is certainly not clear

I do not want to enter an argument with you about what are trivialities but no I do not agree entirely with you. I shall explain.

Yes, concurr, always preferable for the previous claimant to transfer land parcels to the new claimant - as then the parcels are included in the land update section and ready to go. As for late stage - not really applicable. Another few days left yet. So long as the Continuation sheets arrive Worksop by May 15 (or 17 this year). I have posted on the 14th before.

But if the new claimant cannot get the previous claimant to make the electronic transfer, or as one of the earlier posters a RLE1 has been submitted to make the transfer (goodness knows why they used that old method) and the land parcels do not show up on the Land Update section, there is no option, is there, but to use a paper Continuation Sheet.

As for dual claims and speed of RPA processing, I have in my experience not found any slowness of processing. And the possibility of a dual claim is just one of those things - if it happens then a case of correspondence with RPA.

First time I have heard of the RPA say the 'onus' is on the previous claimant making a transfer. What about if the previous claimant has died and there are no successors to effect the changes. Sounds to me as though you had a nice RPA helpline operator working off a script in an ideal world,

Anyway all great fun. And best wishes to you.

And coincidentally I am meeting up with a farmer tomorrow who I assist with the annual BPS claim. He told me last week he as just purchased a field. The field has been not farmed for two or three years. So rather than faff around finding out who had it and getting them to transfer online, I shall spend 15 minutes to draw up a RLE1 to register the parcel afresh (even though it is already registered), prepare a Continuation Sheet to get the parcel claimed and associated with my clients SBI. All photocopied and sent by post Tuesday signed for. And put in a call to Townsends Agents to set in play purchasing 10 entitlements. More great fun.

Just a quick one if the land as previously been registered i assume there would be no requirement to enclose any maps...Thankyou
