Glad you didn't measure up for my collecting yard 🤣
When I was doing some work in the garden we needed a load and carefully worked it out.
Got to the end of the job and driver announced we had at least 2 cube left and it was dearer to take it back than to buy the stuff.
Quick panic but I knew I was going to build a shed in future. Luckily a digger was on site so we dug a deal hole and poured.
Sadly the drivers idea of 2 cube turned out to be more like .5 and left me a hole with concrete at the bottom. That shed will never move though

The joys of working out cubes of concrete.
We have a run of 30 cubicles to do this week. For this exact reason I've ordered mix as you go. I know per cube it's more expensive, but at least no leftover to find a home for, or even better, we won't be short!

Getting a feeding passage reading for the front of a new dry cow shed. What sort of finish is best? Also thinking about getting that epoxy coated 3ft out from the barrier sometime after for the silage.

Mix as you go concrete is pure rubbish, slow going off, recycled aggregate and not british standard stamped.

Honestly do yourself a favour and have a proper measure up, it's not that hard.

Reading this thread you would all be sick if you seen an Amazon warehouse construction site. They order 400cube from each concrete supplier (1200cube a day) H+S on their site says no excavations overnight, so dig all in the morning, pour in the afternoon and confirming concrete in the morning. I have heard of the last 10 trucks being sent straight to the wash out area to tip their load and washout. Just to be broken up with the 35t machine and loaded away the next morning.

A local farm concreted the entire farm drive with excess loads sent back when they were building the town bypass

Our mix on site supplier uses proper aggregate not recycled. We've done lots of jobs including a 40m x30m yard with no problems.
Nothing worse than the whirleys turning up for a sloping bit and its too wet.
