Yes, we thought our guardian alpacas would keep foxes at bay, so didn't fence round the moving coop. After a week or two, the hens got braver and started scratching under the hedge or going into the wood for a change of scene. Easy prey for foxes, we lost 25 or so in short order, now fence them in. Not bothered by fence keeping foxes out, it is to keep hens in. They lock themselves up at night in the converted horsebox and are safe there.
