I’ve always thought if I wasn’t farming then some form of tractor driver job on construction would suit me down to the ground. All the joys of what I like doing but on construction / trade hours which are far shorter and usually Monday-Friday.
Different ball game tractoring in construction to farming!

How so, Spud?
Variety of work mostly. More clipboards & procedure. Yes probably higher hourly rate & less hours but in terms of job satisfaction I'd say dragging a dust suppression tanker or dump trailer pays the bills, no more. Compared to a years tractoring on a mixed farm it strikes me as boring as hell. Less chance of your 'own' tractor too
