Tractor is 9 months old and always had problems since day one! Many have been resolved some still there mostly in the gearbox ,manufacturer has accepted there is a problem but will not put any more money into it (I wanted a new gearbox) but would prefer to put it into a new tractor and come to an agreement with me regards a change , or I just put up with a sub standard unit ? Has anyone else had similar happen and how much will it cost me ? Ive only put 360hours on it and cant stand driving it!
Rep willl come for a meeting next week to discuss but I want to be ahead of the game and not rolled over!

Think you need some sort of basic legal advice regarding fit for purpose etc rather than TFF advice
From where ? The tractor is working but whiny and rattly and jumpy between gears! Was interested to hear is this a regular occurance or am I unlucky or do others just put up with substandard products?

Get the dealer/manufacturer to put 5 years full warranty on it and keep trucking on in. If their confident in the product then it shouldn't be a problem for them and you'll at least be assured it won't incur you any major cost for the period of the warranty.

On the very rare occasion when I feel we have been in a similar position I have always tried to get to speak to the boss man at the dealership and have the rep present as well.

The last time we had such a meeting was over a baler deal that hadn't gone as planned. we sat down round our kitchen table with a cuppa and some of Mrs drillmans cake, put our case forwards in a polite, firm and reasoned manner, and were prepared to be flexible on our part. The dealer saw us right on that occasion and has done ever since.

Its an option and if I wasnt driving it I would possibly agree, but having spent x amount woud be nice to drive it without being embarrassed!
How would put up with a nosy gearbox in there 50 grand car?

Is yours unique in the way it drives or are they all the same? I suspect they are, in which case you maybe did wrong buying it if you don't like the product.

Will be the boss im meeting and I have no bad feeling towards him , possibly let down by manufacture! im just wondering how they will approach it!? Dont feel it is down to the dealer to stand but themanufacturer as I doubt dealer would want to try and resell this bag of nails !

Best bit of advice I ever had was treat someone right and you will get more out of them so sit him down somewhere warm and comfortable with coffee and cake and get his take on things. Make it clear your not happy but also try to be constructive with solutions. I'm sure you will get sorted.

I have had 2 tractors replaced under warranty , one at 30 months old and another at 3 months old. Both times they were taken back by the manufacture and not the dealer. I just talked to them after major problems on both tractors and they took them back and replaced with new tractors which were perfect. So they will do it.

The sort of scenario I'm hoping for! A problem has been agnoliged but I have used the tractor so wouldn't expect it to be quite that simple plus the finance company would probably have to get involved.

I would have a meeting with the big cheese, have your wife or relation come to take notes of the meeting so there is a record of what is discussed. This shows you mean business and need it sorting. The dealer needs to either mend your machine or replace it, making you buy another helps nobody as he will then flog your heap to an unsuspecting buyer

Is it a blue one like your pic? I know someone that had a heck of a gearbox problems with his, Back to the dealers many many times. Met him in the dealers before Chirstmas and he was saying he had told them to keep it (it had been in for 3 wks at that point getting it fixed again)

I could prob put you in touch with this farmer

What Is he supposed to replace it with? Think they would try to fix but manufacturer doesnt want to spend on itas they dont seem to know the cure which I find hard to believe!

They don't want to spend money on it?
How is that your concern?
Finance company give their opinion?
After only a short chat I got the impression that rather than spend thousands on a gear box they would sooner put that into doing a deal to change (may be wrong though).
Not sure what you mean by " how is that your concern " and still waiting the finance company to get back in touch.
