Advice welcome. Should I finish Fri steers now?

Go a group of British friesian steers 14months old 375-450 kg. We're not over done with silage.
The plan was to bring everything over 400kg in and finish on barley we have spare. Am I rushing them? Should I store them threw the winter an finish them next summer? Any thoughts welcome

Good point. There be closer to 26 months if I graze them next summer. Help out the silage shortage to

As they get bigger they will cost as much to feed as they are gaining in weight. If they will kill a 3 then they want to go. I’ve fed some over the summer that just kept growing instead of getting fat. Killing them now between 700 and 800kilo. But less Holsteiny ones will flesh easier.

There's a premium on 4L if you can hit it, they need to be good sorts to hit that at 600 live. Most of ours go at 700 live, average O-, but we have a big heap of cheap silage. Get some starch into them and watch them grow. Get them in, push them and away in 140 days.
