Big drought in Afghanistan this year, so yields down 40%. Couple that with a lot of people now don't have a job since the Taliban takeover and the high cost of any food available, they are taking about 9 out of 10 families being short of food. If we don't do something soon, it won't be long before they off and into Europe, paddling their rubber boats to Dover.

They shouldn't have been in Afghanistan in the first place some countries don't believe in democracy such a waste of time fighting the taliban and they are now running the country any way

Afghanistan has not had a viable economy for years - virtually their only export is opium, their entire health service has been supported by international donations for some time

Having spent a number of years in that part of the world I am not really surprised. They were given the opportunity to develop their country with the help & assistance of NATO and others but they failed to get on and do it.They had massive amounts of firepower at their disposal but let themselves be overun by the taliban.Sorry but 20 years should have been ample time .if they had really wanted to, to get it sorted and fight for the nation state. But they failed and the consequences are becoming apparent.
