the yanks only get involved when oil is threatened but dress it up as humanitarian. Most politicians like a little war to boost there egos and show they are patriotic and willing to be strong for their country. All while someone father, son, brother mother or sister get thrown under the bus as a causality of democracy. if they aren’t careful they’ll pick a fight with a big dog and get the sh1t kicked out of them. China has millions of it population with f all to loose and no respect of the western world.
Not much oil in Afghanistan?

Answer is sell all the equipment that they got when the US pulled out? if its true about the sheer amount then its truely staggering? look it up ? over 200 aircraft, 28 apache helicopters, over 70, 000 vehicles, 100, 000s of machine guns, assault rifles, much of this is the very latest equipment? infact enough to equip any countries armed forces better than what with got?

As long as there is religion in the world there is going to be famine and war in the world.

I am sure the talibans sky wizard would much rather they concentrated on making sure families had something to eat rather instead of shooting people in the face for singing or cutting peoples hair.

But then how can someone who believes in their own sky wizard criticise someone else’s sky wizard? Good old religion eh.
Facts don't back this up. Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tong, Hitler?

Apparently 22 million are in the next few months about to starve. Obviously Afghanistan has other problems causing this monumental disaster, but is this just a sign of things to come. If so why is the world not preparing to secure food. They seem more bothered about anything other than food right now.

How crazy are these poloticans and civil servants
It's one of the biggest immoral abdications of responsibility for our "leaders" in Glasgow to be spending a fortune on a glorified self congratulatory jolly when there are a huge number of people on the brink of starvation. They have never played anything but lip service to actually helping people who may be affected by climate change which will happen anyway.

People in power like Carrie Anne Toinette (apologies to the PM if I've spelt her name wrong) will not be judged well by history

Unfortunately, whilst this is absolutely true, there were many cases of vast amounts of money being wasted due to poor organisation and management of projects. I was personally involved in three projects, one funded by USAID, one by DFID and one by the German government, all of which were poorly planned from the outset.

Completely agree. Corruption within Afghan government and society is one thing, and generally expected, but incompetence by aid implementing organisations was hugely frustrating. Like "wee-ing in to the wind", to put it mildly.

How will they punish anyone that goes against their religion if they don’t have guns? There will be working women and beardless men running riot…….

Things look pretty hopeless for those stuck in Afghanistan and no doubt thousands will starve to death praying to a god for help which in the past seemed to help in the form of aid agencies but doesn’t like that is a option now.

Facts don't back this up. Stalin, Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tong, Hitler?

How many Jews were executed praying for help? Many didn’t fight because they believed prayer was the answer?

You cant honestly tell me that the vast amounts of military and non military equipment abandoned by the US when they left afghanistan have significant value? a small amount could be traded for food? find willing buyers as well? the west has got to wake up they have willing neibours allies friends, rich ones as well ? what about all these super rich arab states, the ones who buy football clubs as a plaything, they have so much money? never hear of them helping their fellow moslems?

i am not really sure what you are getting at there but there are quite a few that have done both do you could ask them.
Death is the ultimate leveller , nobody is getting out alive , some believe its the end others believe its the end of the beginning. We’ll both find out some day however you can hide the pursuit of greed , power and corruption behind any reason you wish but ultimately its the own individual’s choice.

there’s no greed or power in shooting anyone who shaves their beard it’s believing the words of a thousand + year old book that says men should all have hairy faces and wanting everyone else to do the same!

Sharia law is what is causing starvation in Afghanistan and would do the same in any country in the world if it was enforced with ak47s and a large % of the population don’t agree.

The problem is nobody can criticise someone who believes that sharia law is appropriate whilst believing in their own religious teaching as it would be flat out hypocrisy.

You have your beliefs and they have there’s but a practicing Christian can’t criticise a practicing Muslim for exercising theirs.

My belief is there would be a whole lot less bloodshed, famine and suffering in a secular society compared to the mess we all find ourselves in at the moment!
