Agco c3000 over correcting

Valtras374

Hi I am running a valtra s374 on agco3000 but it over corrects its self so ends up weaving down the field instead of in a straight line. I have turned down the steering aggressiveness the screen was also calibrated by dealer but no difference. Any one have any ideas?

By "screen calibration" you probably mean the tractor steering angle sensor and the tractor steering valve calibration?

Which correction signal do you use, does the GNSS receiver have the gyro unit?

We have the C3000 on a Valtra (not a Valtra branded MF) and it runs perfectly (on RTK).

Steering valve needs calibrating by the dealer would be my guess

Could be so on a Valtra. On a Fendt one can do it from the small tractor screen.

Reading the Valtra manual there is a steering calibration menu too but it is not clear to me if this is for the angle sensor too or both the angle sensor and the valve.

As long as the steering angle sensor is good, I would not expect the valve calibration make the tractor end up weaving?

The steering valve needs calibrating as wombat said. It’s called calibrating the mins.... so the system knows exactly how much oil flow is required to make the wheels move. Thus if this is out of calibration a it would cause your issues....

Robt, if you say so, the dealer must have made a mistake when they calibrated the steering valve.

My logic just assumes that a too aggressive steering valve response would make wheels nerves, turning fast back and forth until they settle (if they settle). The point being that the controller still gets wheel angle information and would quickly turn back when overshooting. The tractor would unlikely move off the wayline while doing this, unless driven very fast. Actually the OP did not describe "the wavelength" of the weaving, nor the tractor speed when this happens.

The X30 screen manual does not cover "caibrating the mins" task. Are you referring to a dealer calibration for the tractor? Or is it for some specific steering valves only, the X30 manual says steering valve calibration appearing depending on the valve (does not appear for our Valtra, this however is a different Valtra).

Mounting bias should not make the tractor do waves. Steering valve calibration includes zero position calibration which might cause slow waves. In any case, so far all suggestions are about calibrations. In any case these have to be good, so why not double-check. Any suggestions what else could cause this?

The dealer has to calibrate the valve with an EDT laptop.
Other things to check
P times
And also check no one has been playing with vehicle geometry
From my 6 years of experience , I’d say get the valve recalibrated by the dealer. However I could be wrong as trying to diagnose over the internet with very limited info is very hard......
Good luck to the op as it can be a very frustrating problem
