Agco (Topcon) GPS vs Topcon GPS

I'm told only Agco (topcon) will work through the datatronic screen and associated wiring in an MF 7718 - would I be better getting Agco Topcon or ordinary Topcon with a separate screen- I'm guessing the wiring on the tractor will be compatible with both?

Will a different system make use of the existing wiring in the tractor ie to the steering valve , wheel sensors, roof mount, cab etc or is new wiring needed
Which brand have you found to be best?

That’s not correct @barnbyhall . It’s datatronic 4 screen. ( one with scroll wheel and buttons on the side). Then Topcon AGI-4 isobus will work through the screen fine. I fitted lots with no problems . It’s a bit basic but you can add a screen at a later date
Shmungus is in norther island. UK support is very good wit LH Agro.

We have an Agco (topcon) working through a tellus pro. Plug in the tellus, turn off the ISO functions on the Datatronic and bingo, better functionality on the tellus. Leaves the datatronic for tractor functions. Whether you can get agco topcon to talk to a Trimble/Novatel era model, probably difficult to impossible

There’s not much support from topcon here either. I’ve sold a few isobus kits of theirs for rate control of liquid and potatoes on potato planters.
All good when putting them on a Deere screen. Not so good when putting on a Fendt screen. They wiped their hands off that one.

Service is good when it’s easy problems. When things get difficult there is little knowledge.
I’ve recently put an arag controller on my seeder which worked perfect like they said it would. I’ve just moved it to a sprayer I’ve just bought. They reprogrammed it and left. I set it all up and discovered a software glitch which was corrected 24 hours later with an update.

that to me is good service

Hi All, Topcon Ireland have an office in Toomebridge so if there is any support problem please call 0044 (0)28 79659299 and ask to talk to me. I look after all Topcon AG support on the Island. LH Agro are a great team but it is expensive to travel over and back. Since we have a office in NI we will support the AG product.
