Age of pottinger mex 6

Just out of interest how can you put an age to a mex 6 is it in the serial number? I had a 2004 one until last year. I went with a neighbour to help him look at one advertised as 2004 but it was the older style difrent drawbar guards and crop press like I've seen on a 1994 one but not sure when they changed guessing around 2000. The serial number did start 04.

Can usually find the date stamped on wheel rims or hydraulic rams and occasionally plastic mouldings like hydraulic tanks

Or on main chassis near rear axle or bracket for tailor hitch

On pottinger machines the year of manufacture is the 7th number back in the serial number

Thanks for the replies he bought it anyway based on condition just be interested to know as the seller was convinced it was 04 and I was convinced it was older I'll have another look when he has got it back home.
