Aged Mcconnel part ?

Hi , a friend has got a 1973 mcconnel power arm 44 hedge cutter it's like new except the control box . Mcconnel couldn't believe one was still in operation and parts were abandoned a long time ago.
Any ideas of a replacement control box??? New or used (y)
TIA

That's got to be a very basic control box, so easily made or repaired by an electronic engineer. Speak to the team at D K Electronics, they repair control boxes for a living. https://dkelectronics.co.uk/

They won't sell replacemant boxes or separate switches for the older models but could get a new box with 5 switches like this second hand one

or alternative replacement one like this

If the old one is intact then it would be much cheaper to fix it. They can be stripped and the contacts cleaned if some are a bit temperamental

I made one from scratch. Even swapped 2 of the levers with a 2 way joystick. Would've liked to have found a joystick with 2 buttons on it some how to do all 3 functions.

You have to get your head round how the master valve opens and the diodes required but it really is easy if you're into such things

Hi, I've just pulled our old powerarm 44 out of the barnand the hy-fi control valve unit is leaking from the cut off valve. Is there an easy fix for this or is it a send away job?
