Does agricultural paint usually require a clear coat of lacquer on top? Or is it a single stage, i.e. the paint is the finished coat.

I am thinking on painting a set of wheels, was going to go with a high build primer on top of the existing paint and then rub it all back smooth, then finish with a 2k paint on top. Just unsure whether I then also require a lacquer like automotive paints?

No it's all solid colour generally, of course Fendt maybe using clear over base!

Hi there is a base coat that is then covered with a clear coat as it will dry matt and have no protection from elements so a clear is a finish protection coat.
but mainly a solid colour as called is a 2k enamal so no clear is needed just a hardner

Ok thank you, so best option really is 2k!

A 1k enamal will have good results also
a 2k is dearer harder and with good results and can be worked with when it is dry.
A base and clear is a bit more skill involved so unless your a confident painter stick to a solid colour 1 or 2k will be fine get a good mask though its evil stuff
