You shouldn't need to report anything if it's gone through a mart. They do it all.

In fact, at the very start, I think we were specifically told not to report movements that went through a mart, or to a slaughterhouse, as double reporting was messing up the system.

Youve to ask the mart to regester the moves otherwise its up to you

Each holding in the chain is responsible for reporting on and off movements, you can't report movements for another holding
Markets up here definitely report both movements. Our software package @Farm Matters Ltd asks for one for the record (not sure if it's mandatory - I've always put one in) but specifically tells you that the market should notify the movement.

Borderway does it too, not just Scotland. Also was the case with BCMS before the tracing was split.

Have also sold cattle through H&H direct farm to farm, down into England, and they handled all the movements on that as well.

it is on the 'market sticker' they put on the passport, to show the movement on.

you are only required to register your 'off' movement, to the mkt, mkt registers the on movement, and the new owner, registers the 'on' movement, some mkts will do the next 'on', for the new owner.

we move a lot of cattle, its surprising how many times, BCMS contact me, to ask where an animal has moved to. Some new owners, don't always do their 'on' movement.

Thank you for your help - sorry this late response don’t mean to be rude just up to my eyes.
