There are truths, untruths and inaccuracies throughout this thread . No one knows .

Currently we live in a first past the post democratic system. If it all goes to sh*t, even in the short term , whoever is is seen as responsible will be out on their ear in favour of another unknown future path . The mob will decide and can be unpredictable.

Whether Brexit is successful or not the relatively short term political horizon are unlikely to allow any new order to truly develop.

On another directly connected note I think it quite possible that we could see civil unrest between Rural/Urban as the countryside adjusts to its new role.

The point is that the Commission perform many functions on behalf of all 28 members States, so that those 32,000 employees are extremely efficient.

If the UK takes back those functions, it is fairly obvious even to Brexit zealots that customs, regulations, immigration, etc would imply the UK employing more than that figure simply to carry out work that is now being done on our behalf.

Brexit - economics for juveniles, politics for toddlers, sentiments for old men.

Precisely- why the chancellor has had to put aside £3 billion for implementation of Brexit in the budget.
Like it or not it's going to be a very expensive exercise.

I do hope you're wrong.

Their proposal has good elements in it, the devil will be in the detail of how it works, especially in the balance of power between those seeking (demanding?) benefit from schemes and those offering it.

Their "online system" proposal would exclude many in the very remote rural areas they claim to target most. It would also be costly and risky to set up. The UK has a dire track record in public IT systems.
