As part of a commitment to building regional relationships and offering the best in expertise, Agrovista is delighted to announce the appointment of Durham-based Agronomist, Helen Lax.

33-year-old Helen studied Agriculture with Crop Management at Harper Adams University, before embarking on a career as a BASIS-registered agronomist - helping farmers to improve the way they grow their crops.

She then spent more than four years as a farm trader, whilst also helping to grow and develop her family’s contracting business.

Now, Helen is looking forward to returning to agronomy to further develop her specialism within cereal crops, and build customer relationships across her home turf in the north east.

She said: “As well as my day job, I’ve been helping to run my family’s contracting business, overseeing its organic growth year on year.

“This has given me a real insight into what it takes to run a successful business, as well as what is required to offer the very best in customer service.

“But, I’m ready to get stuck into being an agronomist again, which has always been my dream job. I believe the transferable skills I’ve learnt outside of agronomy will stand me in good stead for driving my role forward at Agrovista.

“I’m really looking forward to getting to know customers and building rapport with them. I’m incredibly passionate about my local area and the wider countryside, and my role at Agrovista offers me the opportunity to make that my day job too.”

Helen, a keen cyclist, joins the Yorkshire and north east team, and will be specifically covering Durham and the surrounding areas.
