Surely the AHDB fb monitor is just going to be sat with their finger on the delete button for two hours ?
They'd be better off to just close the page for the evening, it would pee off a load of vegans who have obviously organised to abuse the page that evening.
No one normal is going to miss the page for the evening and the AHDB don't give the vegans the use of their platform to bad mouth the industry.

They would claim that as a victory - AHDB running scared. Delete their posts & they win because they claim it is because the barbarians can't handle the truth. Counter their posts with facts & they win because the barbarians are lying....

In that case they may as well close the page then, it's lose lose either way.

Pleased to see you on here. What planet are you living on ? Why should I pay for a fb page for animal rights extremists to call me a murderer who needs to get another job ?
If you think there is anything to be gained from talking to these people, then please do it in a private meeting, not on a public forum that is supposed to be promoting my business. If you think that the fb page you are running has achieved anything positive in the last month, then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

Im not sure a policy of ‘radio silence’ or hiding from Social media will be the answer.
I’m all for engagement in the current, popular medium by ADHB, but, it simply needs to be done better with a clear strategy for the glaringly obvious counter point it will attract.
There are many highly skilled, savvy people who professionally run these sites all the time.
None of them will be farmers.
Get the right people, provide the brief, pay them well and provide support and guidance then leave them to it.

The Vit B12 comments are still on the second post down of the FB page. 🙄

Is that their idea of a protest?I thought they were going to storm the building or something. Protests have gone downhill lately.

Looks to me like one of the biggest problems with AHDB is that it's funded by a compulsory tax (I won't call it a "levy", that sounds too fluffy) so they haven't got much to fear by p!ssing off those forced to fund it. It would be a different story if it was voluntary. They'd have to pull their fingers out, or those paying in would find something better to do with their money.

To be fair, if it wasn’t funded by a compulsory levy, most UK farmers would choose not to pay it, then sit on their hands and moan that nobody was doing any promotion for them. There would be plenty on here that would contribute to such a moaning thread too.

Beef & Lamb NZ is funded through a similar levy system, yet their efforts are seen as so much better. The problem isn’t the funding mechanism, it’s the way it’s being spent.

Yep the top post is a pinned one. The second one down is the current one they are having fun on, top comment the one telling you and me that we are destroying the planet and pumping our animals with supplements. 125 likes and counting.
AHDB are asking us to share these posts. Has anyone on here shared any of them with their customers ? Because there is no way that I am.

Don't forget the poor dears must be very weak with their malnutrition!!

in the 1930’s “westerners” discounted the Japanese military because their soldiers & pilots were all “small & short sighted” . . .

well, they did a pretty good job of taking over most of the Pacific Ocean & beyond, in a very short space of time, on their “cup of rice a day” . . .

the Vietcong in their “sandals & pyjamas” did alright against the massive US military machine also

don’t make the mistake of underestimating or belittling your opponent

these two guys eat a vegan diet, but I wouldn’t like to go toe to toe with either of them 🤣

Hmm.. Their digestive systems and metabolisms are purposely designed for a herbivorous diet. I doubt they'd look so well if either were forced to eat an omnivorous or carnivorous diet for several months.

I still wouldn't insult their mothers!

Could you tell us what the plans are for our facebook page:
https://www.facebook.com/WeEatBalanced

As it is, it is just sat there gathering dust.
Is the 'campaign' over ?
Either do something useful with it - loads of good ideas have been shared on here - or delete the whole thing.

If it is to stay, please could you delete the numerous negative comments, eg:
did you know that B12 is not naturally found in animal products, but actually comes from the soil ? However, much of the soil in the UK is cobalt deficient so the animals have to be given B12 supplements, which is how it is found in milk and other animal products. You are very aware that animal farming is destroying the planet and is not sustainable in the slightest. Thanks, i’ll take my B12 supplement directly, and not through the dead body of an animal.

Someone has been on there and deleted some of the comments that were on view when you first click on, however they have not bothered to go through the follow up comments such as the one above and delete them.
A shoddiness of work that absolutely typifies this whole sorry affair.

On a call with AHDB this morning
Can not specify British due to state aid rules as they stand at the moment.
As for negative comments on FB etc, majority of consumers see these for what they are, untruths. I know we as farmers get frustrated by them but they are actually ignored.
Caution used by AHDB engaging with these activists due to personal attacks on staff and levy payers.

2000 times it was shown on TV
Every £1 spent equaled £9.60 in extra retail sales, (of course not all of which I believe would reach farmers)
Added £30 million to sales in total.

Don't shoot me the messenger.

Bang :) .

I know little of social media, but one thing I do understand is that the idea of fb is that people share your posts, so that they reach a much wider audience than your page itself does.
Has anyone on here shared any of those posts ? Because I know that I haven't, as I am embarrassed of them.
There was something in a recent AHDB newsletter about how many zillions of people this fb campaign reached. I don't believe those numbers any more than I believe these figures about value of increased sales due to this campaign.

Nothing has been posted for 6 weeks now. What is the point of leaving it sat there ? Anyone finding it is still reading sh!t like the below. We have paid for this, we are paying for it every day. It's bollox.
