Yeah, the eat balanced campaign is going great

I'd say the we eat balanced campaign has been infiltrated by a vegan who's running the shop.
Probably the human resources PC brigade appointed a vegan rather than be seen to discriminate against non meat eaters and then spend a large chunk of livestock farmers money on a vegan campaign, unbelievable 🤦

Thanks for the posts. Think we're all coming at this from point of how can we best engage consumers in positive conversations on dairy/meat. While milions of people have seen our TV ads, print ads in newpapers and in store advertising, what we do on social media is also important.

Over last 24 hours I've had conversations with our marketing team at AHDB to relay your points & get their perspective. I will continue those discussions tomorrow & come back on this thread.

Couple of final thoughts to leave you with:

1. Our research shows the public trust farmers, and we need to build on that https://eur02.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https://projectblue.blob.core.windows.net/media/Default/Consumer%20and%20Retail%20Insight%20Images/Reports/TrustAndTransparency2994_190911_WEB.pdf&data=04|01|[email protected]|933630fe571f4c8057c308d8bada9028|a12ce54b3d3d434695efff13ca5dd47d|1|0|637464795166235673|Unknown|TWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0=|1000&sdata=+nOGHHAQRl1gb2c/FlaSZr+JO6acJBlyYVnPd+0jN5w=&reserved=0

2. Consumers want to hear farmers tell their own stories on social media & we need to think around how as meat and dairy sectors we can achieve this, while recognising that there are some people out there with alternative views who are pretty vocal.

Thanks for putting your head above the parapet on here Paul.
Can you tell us how much the campaign is costing and how you’re measuring it’s effectiveness please?

So, how many of YOU are complaining to AHDM about their spending of YOUR levy ?

This.
We get the representation we deserve.

I’m not too worried about the vegans or their comments tbh. My problem is with the people running the campaign & hosting the page, supposedly to promote British meat ?
Yeah, great . . .

could they be anymore incompetent?

enthusiastic amateurs do MUCH better

This.
I have no problem with vegan campaigners. They are doing their job. We are the problem.

Well, the Go Vegan fb page is still there in all its glory, and Paul hasn't stuck his head in here since Sunday.

He will no doubt be in a meeting determining how they can spend our money on vital stuff like leaflets on how to treat foot rot ( which is available for free all over the internet ) and not marketing which is where it should be going.

WTAF.
They are saying that it is a good thing ? To have allowed videos and other propaganda material, specifically designed to make people go vegan, to stay on this fb page ? To have encouraged the livestock industry to share this information far and wide ?
I don't know whether to laugh or cry, I really don't.

This is horrific. On top of the whitewash "consultation" that RT are doing, I'm seriously weighing up my options for exiting livestock. Who the hell is representing us within RT, ADHB, NFU, etc?

I intensely dislike facebook, although I have a presence for keeping up with distant friends and some interest groups, I very rarely post or engage. But, I did have my first ever online duel with a vegan activist a couple of days ago which was quite an eye opener to how they operate.

The AHDB should either be engaging the vegan posters with knowledge and humour or shutting them down immediately. Is it really so hard?
