Anybody else think the headline is rather a strange question in justifying the benefit of AHDB?

I’d see more sense if it was “Where to YOU get your indepent evidence-based research?”.

I see benefits in AHDB, but the approach
taken is almost counter-intuitive to me.

Most growers pay their agronomist for advice.

These same farmers pay AHDB in levy to fund the research used to provide that advice to the agronomist.

Same advert in Farmers guardian.

A lot of AHDB dairy stuff is used by vets and then sold to farmers as well.

Vets do pay to go on AHDB course as well though.

The logic is then 'charge the bloody agronomists the levy then'. And then the farmer can decide whether to pay the agronomist more when he/she says they subscribe to the AHDB.

I find it a bit strange that the AHDB are using our money to put large full page adverts in the farming press in an effort to save their skin.

In my opinion this is to little to late, its the same as red tractor, we can't keep funding these quango's.
Agree entirely why should they waste our levy money on adverts telling us all the good they do. It was intended to be used for research and development, which they seem to have forgotten about. Its all because they have just lost the horticulture sector vote and the potato sector are in the middle of theirs. I think its called canvasing.
