I've a feeling the money paid to RT is ring fenced for marketing?
I think AHDB could use that cash in a way which would better help levy payers.
I'd suggest getting AIC to create a level playing field. If AIC/RT won't budge, I'd like to see AHDB set up farmer run alternatives to both RT and AIC.
Farmers purchase feed from mills, so why shouldn't we insist on a UFAS type scheme which WE approve of. The current UFAS and AIC scheme rules put extra costs on arable farmers, and that ultimately means extra cost to purchasers of the feed. It's a cost that can be stripped out of our industry, with no detriment.
